We are pleased to share an update on our journey towards becoming an academy within Bourne Education Trust (BET).

As you know, we are currently an Associate School with BET, and last term we consulted with parents and wider stakeholders on our proposal for Tadworth Primary School to convert to academy status and join BET fully.

Earlier this term, we received confirmation from the Department for Education that our Academy Order has been approved. Since then, we have been working through the legal processes required to move from being a Local Authority maintained school to an academy. Our current aim is to complete the conversion on 1 June 2026.

As part of our consultation in the autumn, we also sought feedback on a proposed change to our term dates so that they would align with those of other BET schools. Provided the conversion takes place on the planned date (1 June), our term dates for 2026–27 will follow the BET calendar rather than Surrey’s. These dates are available to view on our school website.  They will be formally confirmed upon conversion to academy status.
