Appreciate Books

That was the message of this morning’s assembly when I shared with the children a range of new books which we have in school.  

Once again, we have been selected to take part in the Surrey Libraries’ Children’s Book Award.  Last year we were a champion school which involved being part of the panel who chose the winning book.  This year we are a ‘short listing’ school which will see us being part of the panel who select the top five books from a ‘long list’ of ten.

We are delighted to be involved once again We have acquired 10 copies of each of the 10 books for school.  If your son/daughter comes home with any of the titles (pictured on the right) we are asking them, when they have finished reading, to score it out of 10 - adding a comment if they can.  They can then post their scoring sheet in the relevant box in the library.

 On 7th March, we will average the scores given for each of the books and let the children and organisers know the Top 5 as chosen by children at Tadworth.                                                      JK
